Due to unforeseen bus driver staffing challenges, this week several of our bus routes will be running double routes. We understand that these delays may inconvenience some families and we want to provide you with the necessary information to help you plan accordingly.
To better accommodate the needs of different families, our school doors will open at 7:30 a.m. to allow for early drop-offs. In the afternoon, K-6 students affected by double routes will
be taken to the EC-1 building until they're picked up to minimize the time spent on buses and outdoors. High School and RJHS students will remain at their buildings until buses pick them up.
Afternoon Double Routes for Monday, September 9th:
Route F will be transporting route D.
Route A will be transporting route E
Route C will be transporting route B (Early students only)
Route C will be transporting route M (Later students)
These unexpected delays are a direct result of the ongoing nationwide bus driver shortage, which Rochester Schools is actively working to address. To attract and retain drivers, we offer a competitive wage starting at $21/hour, district-paid training and licensing, as well as a $1,000 loyalty bonus and a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
If you or someone you know is interested in helping us transport our amazing students, please apply under the employment tab on the district website: Bus Driver Application
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate these staffing challenges.
