Students Learning Coding to Prepare them for the future

At Rochester Intermediate School, students are learning more than just academics—they’re gaining essential life skills and hands-on experience in problem-solving, creativity, and logical thinking. In Mrs. Bartolozzi’s class, coding is the latest tool being used to equip students with the skills they’ll need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

Through interactive and engaging coding activities, students are introduced to the fundamentals of programming, an essential skill in today’s technology-driven society. These lessons go beyond just teaching students how to write code. They foster critical thinking, teamwork, and a sense of perseverance as students navigate challenges and celebrate their successes.

Mrs. Bartolozzi explains, "Coding is about so much more than computers—it’s about learning how to think in new ways, solve problems creatively, and approach tasks with confidence. These are skills that will serve our students in any career they choose."

By introducing students to coding at a young age, Rochester Schools are ensuring that they are prepared for a future where technology and innovation play a central role. This initiative reflects the district’s commitment to fostering an educational environment that not only supports academic growth but also prepares students for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
