The 100th day of school is always a special milestone, and this year, our EC-1 students and staff made it even more memorable with a day filled with excitement, learning, and a heartwarming surprise.
This year, two honorary guests joined the celebration—June and Norma, lifelong Rochester residents who were both born in 1925 and are celebrating their 100th birthdays this year! Wearing crowns and sashes that read "100 and Fabulous," they were honored with a special parade recognizing their incredible lives and contributions to the community.
"This is the second year we've welcomed guests who are 100 years old to celebrate our 100th day of school with us," said Principal Adrienne Vanfossan. "We love the energy and excitement they bring to our students and staff."
At Rochester Schools, we believe in fostering meaningful relationships with our community, creating opportunities for students to learn from and connect with those who inspire them. These experiences not only enhance education but also encourage students to grow into engaged and positive contributors to society.
Adding to the fun, students celebrated reaching their cafeteria behavior goal in the most entertaining way possible—by smashing whipped cream pies in Mrs. Vanfossan’s face! Cheers, laughter, and excitement filled the air as students and staff came together to celebrate their hard work and dedication.
Here’s to 100 more days of success, discovery, and unforgettable memories!
