PHYSICS CLUB INFORMATION
The Physics Club is sponsoring an Egg Drop Competition on Tuesday, October 3 after school. You can sign up on the Physics Club Canvas Page and see Mrs. Boyer for details.
FCA MEETING INFORMATION
FCA will be having a meeting this Sunday, October 1 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the RAC. All students are welcome to attend.
EUROPE TRIP INFORMATION
There is still room and time to sign up for the upcoming Europe trip to Greece. Students, parents, and friends are welcome to travel on this Educational Tour during July 2024. If the opportunity interests you, please email either Ms. Bilyeu or Ms. Wycoff for more information soon! The price for new enrollees will increase on October 1.
BUS INFORMATION - 9.26.23 - Today's Update
Bus 3 and Bus 20 are being picked up by Bus 11 (sub bus) at dismissal.
Bus 4 and Bus 5 are being picked up by Bus 12 at dismissal.
Bus 10 and Bus 19 are being picked up by Bus 10 at dismissal.
Bus 12 is loading with Bus 2 at dismissal.
Bus 11 (non-daycare students) is loading with Bus 14 at dismissal.
Bus 23 (outside of the early neighborhoods) is a Double Route today and those riders need to wait in the HS Cafeteria until the shuttle bus arrives to take students home. Updated transportation information for the week - PM Dismissal information.
GENERAL INFORMATION
SENIOR NIGHTS - VOLLEYBALL & SOCCER
Senior Night for the Volleyball team will be held TONIGHT, Tuesday, September 26 before the Varsity Game (approximately 6:45) and Senior Night for the Boys Soccer Team will be held on Thursday, September 28 at Halftime of the Varsity Game (approximately 5:15 p.m.). Please come out and support the teams and the Class of 2024!
CAPITAL AREA EDUCATION FAIR
RHS will be offering the chance for Seniors and Juniors to attend the Capital Area Education Fair (CAEF) on October 4 from approx. 8:40-10:20 a.m. The fair is located at the Orr Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds and is an excellent opportunity for your student to talk to different representatives and gather information about specific Colleges and Universities. If your student is interested in attending, they can pick up a permission slip with Mrs. Schudel in Student Services. All permission slips must be returned by September 27. Attendance will be first come first serve.
ORANGE KRUSH APPAREL
Orange Krush T-Shirts and Crewnecks! Please support the Freshman Class and buy an Orange Krush Student Section Shirt. These shirts will be worn in the Student Section on October 13 at the football game! Shirts will also be worn at other sporting events throughout the year. Show some Rochester School Spirit and order here. Order deadline is Monday, October 2.
JOSTENS GRADUATION MATERIALS
Jostens will be here Thursday, September 28 during Rocket Time to hand out Graduation ordering information for cap and gowns, announcements, etc. to seniors. Seniors - Please go to your Rocket Time first for attendance and then head to the Auditorium for the presentation. Jostens will return on Wednesday, October 4 to collect any orders that are not made online. Graduation items will be delivered to students in early Spring of 2023. 3RD ANNUAL COLOR BLAST 5K - RHS JUNIOR CLASS - PROM FUNDRAISER
Please help the RHS Junior Class raise money for this year's Prom by participating in the 3rd Annual Halloween Color Blast 5k Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the JFL Fields at the Rochester Community Park! This event is open to the public and will be fun for ALL ages! Please register at the following link: Registration Link. ***Participants are encouraged to dress up for Halloween along with their race t-shirt. Please read the waiver for this event and check the box on the registration form.

AUDIO ESSAY CONTEST
The Rochester VFW is sponsoring the Voice of Democracy audio essay contest. Winners can receive scholarship monies at the local post, district, state, and national levels. Please see Mr. Fitzgerald in Room 1135 for an entry form and more information. Entries are due to Mr. Fitzgerald by October 31.
FINANCIAL AID NIGHT
SENIORS: Financial Aid Night will be held on Wednesday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the HS Fine Arts Auditorium.
2023-2024 RHS YEARBOOKS ON SALE NOW
The 2023-2024 RHS Rocket Yearbook is on sale now for $67.00 until September 15, the price will increase after this date. ALL sales for books will be online this year. PARKING
If you plan on driving a vehicle to school this year, you must fill out the parking survey and pay the parking fee. If you have not already completed the survey, please do so ASAP, Rochester HS Parking Survey. Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot. Also, all students that park in the back lot will be required to enter through the MPR doors. Students should not be entering any of the other doors on the back side of the HS. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office.
RHS PTO INFORMATION

The money collected helps buy supplies for the school and helps provide meals for Parent/Teacher conferences and treats during Teacher Appreciation Week. Any donation is greatly appreciated!

DENTAL EXAM VISIT AT SCHOOL
The Rochester School District will be hosting Miles of Smiles, Ltd., a mobile dentist program. Miles of Smiles provides preventative dental services in our school to eligible students in all grades. If you are interested in the program, please complete the linked form and return to your school nurse as soon as possible. A copy of this form can be sent home with your student by request. Please return completed forms by 9/29/2023. Contact your school nurse, see attached Miles of Smiles Info Sheet, or checkout the Miles of Smiles Website for additional information.

If your student plans to participate in one of our upcoming sports seasons, please visit RHS RSchool to register your athlete. We will also need an updated physical on file. Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes.
