NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS
FALL CHORAL CONCERT
The Fall Choral Concert will be held on Wednesday, October 18 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Free admission! The Concert begins at 6:00 p.m. and will last approximately 1 hour. Featuring all Jr. High and High School Choral ensembles: JH Chorus & Jazz Choir, RHS Concert Choir, and Madrigals; the Fall Concert will showcase the vocal talents of our many outstanding and dedicated choral students. In addition, the RHS Spring theater production will finally be revealed at the conclusion of the concert! So come out and support the Rochester Choral Music Department!
SPANISH CLUB FUNDRAISER
The Spanish Club is currently having its Annual Cookie Dough Fundraiser! Orders can be placed with any Spanish Club Member, now through October 24. Checks can be made payable to “RHS Spanish Club”. If you have any questions, please see Srta. Miller or Sra Veenstra.
CROSS COUNTRY TEAM RESULTS
This weekend, the Cross Country team competed in the Conference Meet. The girls team finished in 2nd Place led by All Conference runners Brooke Zeibert (7th), Ashley Zeibert (8th), and Natalie Nichols(10th). Other varsity runners included Madelyn Killion, Maria Olson, Jillian Conlon, and Amara Kaeding. The boys team finished 6th. The top finisher was Jack Armbruster (21st). Other varsity runners included Wyatt Gustafson, Ammon Hardy, Kieran Powers, Atreyu Gamble, Porter DeFrates and George Oliver. Great job to all the Rockets!
GIRLS TENNIS TEAM
Congratulations to Raleigh Meneghetti and Julia Musgrave who both qualified for State Tennis in singles. Congratulations!
LETTERMAN JACKETS
Jostens will be at Rochester HS on Wednesday, October 18 during Rocket Time to take orders and measure for Letter Jackets. PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent/Teacher Conferences for Rochester High School families will be held on Wednesday, November 1 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Conferences will be held VIRTUALLY this fall. Parents should use their Skyward Family Access to schedule 15-minute virtual appointments with their student’s teachers that they would like to visit with through our video conferencing platform. After scheduling your conference(s), parents will be sent a link by the teacher for each meeting via their email. Directions on how to schedule a conference can be found here. ATTENTION THEATER PARTICIPANTS
Guess the Spring Show! Everyday a show option will be removed from the poster outside of the choir room until next Wednesday, October 18. Please make sure to come out to the Fall Concert on October 18 to hear the announcement of the Spring Show(s). Please make sure you fill out the Theatre Department Interest Form or email Ms. Geyston at sygeyston@rochester3a.net to be added to the Canvas Page. Audition Materials will be available for students interested after the announcement of the show on Wednesday.
3RD ANNUAL COLOR BLAST 5K - RHS JUNIOR CLASS - PROM FUNDRAISER
Please help the RHS Junior Class raise money for this year's Prom by participating in the 3rd Annual Halloween Color Blast 5k Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the JFL Fields at the Rochester Community Park! This event is open to the public and will be fun for ALL ages! Our Journalism students want to bring you fun this fall with a few games, so please join in to win lots of spooktacular prizes. Learn more about the game going on now in the High School at the Instagram Account: rocket_recap. Drawings will happen every Friday until October 31. Complete the challenges to get your name in the big drawing which will be done on October 31.
MUSIC DEPARTMENT APPAREL SALE
The Rochester Music Department is hosting an Apparel Sale. This sale includes both band and choir options as well as “School of Music” and “Fine Arts Department” shirts. Items come in various styles and both adult and youth sizes are available on most designs. Orders will be taken until November 3. WRESTLING OPEN GYMS
There will be open lifting and conditioning for High School Wrestlers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the RAC. The season starts in early November.

Are you interested in Girls Basketball? Check out Open Gyms on October 17 and 24 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the RAC. (October 24 may be in the MPR, watch for updates.)

AUDIO ESSAY CONTEST
The Rochester VFW is sponsoring the Voice of Democracy audio essay contest. Winners can receive scholarship monies at the local post, district, state, and national levels. Please see Mr. Fitzgerald in Room 1135 for an entry form and more information. Entries are due to Mr. Fitzgerald by October 31.

2024 STEM FAIR

PARKING
If you plan on driving a vehicle to school this year, you must fill out the parking survey and pay the parking fee. If you have not already completed the survey, please do so ASAP, Rochester HS Parking Survey. Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot. Also, all students that park in the back lot will be required to enter through the MPR doors. Students should not be entering any of the other doors on the back side of the HS. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office.

Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes.
