AUDIO ESSAY CONTEST
All entries for the VFW Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Contest are due to Mr. Fitzgerald in Room 1135, by the end of the day Tuesday, October 31. Entries must include a recording on a flash drive, typed essay, and completed entry form.
MUSICAL INFORMATION
Rochester High School will present the Musical, “Back to the 80's” with a one act opening play on March 8-10, 2024. Please email Ms. Geyston with any questions at sygeyston@rochester3a.net.

Rochester High School Students and Staff may participate in dressing up for Halloween if they wear something ONLY from the following categories: Favorite Jersey, Favorite Hat, Favorite Candy, Favorite Color or Favorite Career. Items listed above will follow the Dress Code Guidelines of the Rochester High School Handbook 23-24.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent/Teacher Conferences for Rochester High School families will be held on Wednesday, November 1 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Conferences will be held VIRTUALLY this fall. Parents should use their Skyward Family Access to schedule 15-minute virtual appointments with their student’s teachers that they would like to visit with through our video conferencing platform. After scheduling your conference(s), parents will be sent a link by the teacher for each meeting via their email. Directions on how to schedule a conference can be found here. GENERAL INFORMATION
1ST ROUND FOOTBALL PLAYOFF GAME
Rochester will play Lincoln HS TONIGHT, Friday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Rocket Booster Stadium. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Admissions: Cash tickets at the gate are $5.00 for everyone. No passes will be accepted except for those on the school-submitted team pass list.
CROSS COUNTRY SECTIONALS
Good Luck to the RHS Girls Cross Country Team at Sectionals on Saturday, October 28 in Jacksonville. The girls race begins at 11:00 a.m. RHS Boys Cross Country Runners Jack Armbruster and Jack Arends qualified individually for Sectionals. The boys race begins at noon.
SOCCER SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
Rochester Boys Soccer will play Champaign Central on SATURDAY, October 28 at 11:00 a.m. for the Sectional Championship. Gates will open at 10:15 a.m. Admissions: Admission is set by the IHSA. Digital tickets are $7.00. Cash tickets at the door are $8.00. Digital tickets are only available online through GoFan. The link to the tickets can be found here - Go Fan LINK. BOYS BASKETBALL PARENT MEETING
There will be a Mandatory Boys Basketball Parent Meeting on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. in the RAC.
JUNIORS & SENIORS ANNOUNCEMENT
The annual Building Trades Career Day is on November 14. If you are interested in attending, permission forms are available with Mrs. Schudel in Student Services. Permission forms are due back November 3.
ROCTE CAREER FAIR INFORMATION
Sophomores, please check your email for information about the ROCTE Career Fair on Friday, November 17. Permission slips are available from Mrs. Schudel in Student Services and are due back to Student Services by Thursday, November 9. Informational Flyer

Our Journalism students want to bring you fun this fall with a few games, so please join in to win lots of spooktacular prizes. Learn more about the game going on now in the High School at the Instagram Account: rocket_recap. Drawings will happen every Friday until October 31. Complete the challenges to get your name in the big drawing which will be done on October 31.
MUSIC DEPARTMENT APPAREL SALE
The Rochester Music Department is hosting an Apparel Sale. This sale includes both band and choir options as well as “School of Music” and “Fine Arts Department” shirts. Items come in various styles and both adult and youth sizes are available on most designs. Orders will be taken until November 3. SENIORS: Financial Aid Night will be held on Wednesday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the HS Fine Arts Auditorium.

PARKING
If you plan on driving a vehicle to school this year, you must fill out the parking survey and pay the parking fee. If you have not already completed the survey, please do so ASAP, Rochester HS Parking Survey. Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot. Also, all students that park in the back lot will be required to enter through the MPR doors. Students should not be entering any of the other doors on the back side of the HS. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office.

If your student plans to participate in one of our upcoming sports seasons, please visit RHS RSchool to register your athlete. We will also need an updated physical on file. Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes.
