DOUBLE BUS ROUTES, 1-25-24
Routes #14 and #28 are double routes tonight, please wait in the HS cafeteria after school until your shuttle bus arrives to pick you up and take you home. Please direct any questions regarding late buses to the Bus Garage at (217)498-9834.
SENIOR SCAVENGER HUNT
There will be a Senior Assembly TOMORROW, Friday, January 26 during Rocket Time. Seniors will be participating in an Assembly for the 100th Day of School. This event is for SENIORS ONLY - the seniors will participate in a scavenger hunt for the prize of 100 CAFETERIA COOKIES! Seniors are NOT required to attend if they need to complete work, study for tests, or meet with staff for assistance. Seniors should go to their Rocket Time first for attendance and then head to the Auditorium.
BAND BOOSTERS LASAGNA SUPPER
Tickets are on sale for the Band Boosters Lasagna Supper on February 13 being served from 5:00-6:30 p.m. in the HS Cafeteria. Choices include a meat lasagna or vegetable lasagna served with salad, garlic bread, cookies and drink for $15.00 or a hot dog dinner served with chips, cookies and a drink for $6.00. RHS WRESTLING TEAM RESULTS
The Rochester wrestling team defeated Carlinville and Hillsboro last night. Rochester is now 15-6 on the season. Rochester 54 Carlinville 22 and Rochester 62 Hillsboro 18.
SPANISH CLUB MEETING
The Spanish Club will have their next meeting on Wednesday, January 31 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the HS Library.

CACC OPEN HOUSE
Sophomores and Juniors interested in CACC, please bring your parents/guardians and join us for an Open House TODAY, Thursday, January 25 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to tour the labs, meet the teachers, talk with current students, and see if CACC is where you want to be. GIRLS HS TRACK PARENT MEETING
A Girls' HS Track Parent Meeting will be held Monday, January 29 at 6:00 p.m. in the HS Library. Any girls' planning to go out for track should have a parent attend. Before official practices begin, all athletes must be signed up in rSchool, have a current physical on file at the school with the nurse, and pay the fee. Those involved in winter sports should attend the meeting, but will not be required to be at practice until the winter sport is completed. RHS BASS FISHING TEAM INFORMATION
RHS Bass Fishing will hold an Informational Meeting for the spring season on Monday, February 5 at 6:00 p.m. in the RHS Commons. Those interested in participating in Bass Fishing for the spring season need to be in attendance. Parents and adult boat captains are encouraged to attend as well.
LLCC OPEN HOUSE
LLCC is holding an Open House on Monday, February 19. The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and students can attend at any point during that time frame. LLCC will be offering tours, breakout sessions on Financial Aid and how to pick a major, and many offices will be available for questions or assistance. Please see the FLYER for more information.

SENIORS: The Rochester Education Foundation is offering two (2) one-time $1000 scholarships to graduating seniors of the Class of 2024. Scholarships are now available on their website: https://www.rochestereducationfoundation.org/scholarships.

SENIORS: The Rochester Youth Athletic Association (RYAA) is pleased to announce the annual Scholarship Application for 2024 is open now through Friday April 12, 2024. Graduating Seniors who plan to enroll in an accredited Vocational, Technical, two or four-year College or University for the 2024-2025 Academic School Year can apply here. You do not need to be an active or former RYAA participant to apply. Please email scholarship@ryaasports.org with any questions.
COLLEGE NOW ANNOUNCEMENT
College Now students operate on the LLCC Schedule. This means that Spring Recess follows the LLCC schedule (class meetings happen during the schools' spring breaks if they do not coincide with LLCC's) and closings (class cancellations) also follow the LLCC schedule. If LLCC is open, classes meet, regardless of what is happening in the Rochester School District. LLCC weather closing announcements are available at www.llcc.edu. In addition, revenues from Recognition Ads help our school to create a better yearbook. To purchase your ad online, follow the instructions on the attached LETTER TO PARENTS and then click on the LINK to order. There is also a YouTube Instructional Video that may be helpful to watch before placing your order. Jostens is managing your school's yearbook ad sales, so please do not contact or send materials to the school. Please take into account our school's ad content guidelines on the bottom of the attached form during the creation of your ad online. All ad orders must be placed online by 02/29/2024.

RHS PTO INFORMATION
HS Teachers need your help, kleenex and Clorox wipes are needed now to help us get through the cold and flu season! You can make a donation at PayPal - (RHS PTO @rhsrocketspto) , you can visit our Amazon Wish List at RHS PTO Wish List or you can drop off donations at Student Services. The money collected helps buy supplies for the school and helps provide meals for Parent/Teacher conferences and treats during Teacher Appreciation Week. Any donation is greatly appreciated!
PARKING
If you plan on driving a vehicle to school this year, you must fill out the parking survey and pay the parking fee. If you have not already completed the survey, please do so ASAP, Rochester HS Parking Survey. Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot. Also, all students that park in the back lot will be required to enter through the MPR doors. Students should not be entering any of the other doors on the back side of the HS. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office.
ATHLETICS & ACTIVITIES
SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT
If your student plans to participate in one of our upcoming sports seasons, please visit RHS RSchool to register your athlete. We will also need an updated physical on file. Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.
