RHS PTO INFORMATION
The HS PTO STILL needs your help! The PTO is seeking donations to help provide lunch from Cafe Moxo for our staff during Teacher Appreciation Week in May. You can make a donation at PayPal - (RHS PTO @rhsrocketspto) or you can mail in a donation to - Rochester HS PTO - Attn: Heather Cook, 1 Rocket Drive, Rochester, IL 62563. The money collected helps provide lunch and treats during Teacher Appreciation Week. Any donation is greatly appreciated!
DOUBLE BUS ROUTES, 5-6-24
Bus Routes #4 and #5 are double routes tonight, please wait in the HS cafeteria after school until your shuttle bus arrives to pick you up and take you home. Please direct any questions regarding late buses to the Bus Garage at (217)498-9834.
STUDENT COUNCIL 2024-2025 INFORMATION
Any student wanting to be a member of the 2024-2025 Student Council should complete the application here by Tuesday, May 14.
GRADUATION WALK
All RHS Seniors will visit the Elementary campus, RIS campus and JH/HS campus for a Graduation Walk on Tuesday, May 7 from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Seniors should bring their cap and gown to wear during their visits to the other campuses. You must have your cap and gown to participate. This event is for SENIORS ONLY! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office.
LIBRARY ANNOUNCEMENT
All Senior students must return library books by TOMORROW, Tuesday, May 7.
CROSS COUNTRY MEETING
There will be a brief meeting for those interested in running High School Cross Country in the fall TOMORROW, Tuesday, May 7 at 3:15 p.m. by the Concession Stand at the track . Even if you have never run distance this is a great sport to be involved in. Come see what it’s all about!
SENIOR BANNER INFORMATION
Juniors, the date for photos for sports senior banners is Tuesday, May 14. Photos will begin immediately after school, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. You will need to have your uniform and if in multiple sports, you can bring props to represent sports you plan to play your senior year. RHS CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS
The 24-25 Rochester High School Cheerleading Tryouts will be held on May 7, 8 and 10. SUMMER VOLLEYBALL ANNOUNCEMENT
Students interested in Summer Volleyball: There will be an informational meeting for parents and players on Wednesday, May 8 at 4:45 p.m. in the HS Commons to go over summer volleyball details.
SPANISH CLUB MEETING
There will be a Spanish Club Meeting this Thursday, May 9, from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in the HS Library.
RELEASE GROUP MEETING
There will be a RELEASE Meeting in the High School Library during Rocket Time this Thursday, May 9. The focus will be on Making a Calm Playlist and it will be carried out for 2 weeks. Everyone is free to come, there will be snacks.
MADRIGALS AUDITIONS
Auditions for the 2024-25 Rochester High School Madrigals will be May 13-15 after school in the Choir Room. Any student entering grades 9-12 is welcome to audition regardless of singing experience. SENIOR CLASS PHOTOS NEEDED
We are asking that each senior provide one baby or toddler age (1-3 years old) picture and one senior picture ASAP for the video. Photos can be digital or hard copy. Please see the attached letter for additional information - Senior Photo Request Letter
SPORTS PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Sports physicals for Rochester High School athletes will be held on Tuesday, May 14 starting at 4:00 p.m. in the RAC. These physicals are for current freshman, sophomore and junior athletes. There is no charge for the physicals, which are conducted by local physicians/parents from the Rochester community and Springfield Clinic Sports Medicine. Each student athlete is required to have a physical on file before beginning practice. These physicals are good for 13 months. Each athlete must have a filled out and SIGNED IHSA history and physical form before they can receive their physical. Medical Eligibility Form Volunteer nurses are needed to help with blood pressure checks, height and weight and other pre-physical activities. If you can volunteer to help, or have questions, please contact Jessica Nika at jnika@springfieldclinic.com. There will not be a scheduled make-up date for students that cannot attend. BASKETBALL OPEN GYMS
Basketball open gyms will be every Wednesday and will run through October. The open gyms will be held in the RAC from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for anyone in 3rd through 8th grade and 7:00- 8:30 p.m. for high school students and up.
SUMMER SPORT CAMP REGISTRATION INFO
Summer Camps are open for registration. Payment is cash/check before the first day of camp. If your student plans to participate in one of our upcoming sports seasons, please visit Athletic Registration to register your athlete. Please go under the 'more' tab and choose athletic registration. We will also need an updated physical on file. Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.

PARKING
If you plan on driving a vehicle to school this year, you must fill out the parking survey and pay the parking fee. If you have not already completed the survey, please do so ASAP, Rochester HS Parking Survey. Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot. Also, all students that park in the back lot will be required to enter through the MPR doors. Students should not be entering any of the other doors on the back side of the HS. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office.
