DOUBLE BUS ROUTES, 5-13-24
Bus Routes #11 and #14 are double routes tonight, please wait in the HS cafeteria after school until your shuttle bus arrives to pick you up and take you home. Please direct any questions regarding late buses to the Bus Garage at (217)498-9834.
STUDENT COUNCIL 2024-2025 INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
ROCKET POMS TRYOUTS
Pack those dance bags! Auditions for both the Rochester High School and Rochester Junior High School Rocket Poms teams will be held next week! Tryouts for the 2024-2025 Rocket Poms will be held at the Rochester Elementary 2-3 building May 13-17. All girls trying out need to get on either Bus #26 or Bus #25 to get over to the 2-3 building for tryouts. Current 6th through 11th graders are encouraged to audition. RJH applicants will attend clinics from 3:30-5:00 p.m. while RHS applicants will attend clinics from 4:00-5:30 p.m. All clinics will be closed to spectators. Tryouts will be judged on Friday, May 17. More specific details will be discussed with team candidates on Monday, May 13. Dancers should contact Coach Kramer at dkramer@rochester3a.net to discuss scheduling conflicts.
MADRIGALS AUDITIONS
Auditions for the 2024-25 Rochester High School Madrigals will be May 13-15 after school in the Choir Room. Any student entering grades 9-12 is welcome to audition regardless of singing experience. SENIOR BANNER INFORMATION
Juniors, the date for photos for sports senior banners is Tuesday, May 14. Photos will begin immediately after school, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. You will need to have your uniform and if in multiple sports, you can bring props to represent sports you plan to play your senior year. 30TH ANNUAL ROCKET FOOTBALL GOLF OUTING - MAY 31

SPORTS PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Sports physicals for Rochester High School athletes will be held on Tuesday, May 14 starting at 4:00 p.m. in the RAC. These physicals are for current freshman, sophomore and junior athletes. There is no charge for the physicals, which are conducted by local physicians/parents from the Rochester community and Springfield Clinic Sports Medicine. Each student athlete is required to have a physical on file before beginning practice. These physicals are good for 13 months. Each athlete must have a filled out and SIGNED IHSA history and physical form before they can receive their physical. Medical Eligibility Form Volunteer nurses are needed to help with blood pressure checks, height and weight and other pre-physical activities. If you can volunteer to help, or have questions, please contact Jessica Nika at jnika@springfieldclinic.com. There will not be a scheduled make-up date for students that cannot attend. ATHLETICS & ACTIVITIES
BASKETBALL OPEN GYMS
Basketball open gyms will be every Wednesday and will run through October. The open gyms will be held in the RAC from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for anyone in 3rd through 8th grade and 7:00- 8:30 p.m. for high school students and up.
SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT
If your student plans to participate in sports next school year '24-'25. Registration will open in July. At that time, please visit Athletic Registration to register your athlete. Please go under the 'more' tab and choose athletic registration. We will also need an updated physical on file. Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.
ATTENDANCE EMAILS & PHONE CALLS
ALL attendance information (absences, doctors notes, vacation, pre-arranged absences, college visits, etc.) should be sent to Mrs. Basan-Welch in Student Services by email vbasanwelch@rochester3a.net or by phone 217-498-9761, Ext. 53105.
PARKING
If you plan on driving a vehicle to school this year, you must fill out the parking survey and pay the parking fee. If you have not already completed the survey, please do so ASAP, Rochester HS Parking Survey. Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot. Also, all students that park in the back lot will be required to enter through the MPR doors. Students should not be entering any of the other doors on the back side of the HS. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office.
