The High School Wrestling Team will have their Pre-Season Parent Meeting on Tuesday, October 29 at 5:30 p.m. in the High School Library
VOLLEYBALL PINK OUT NIGHT
The 2024 Pink Out Volleyball Game is TONIGHT, Thursday, October 24. Freshman play at 5:00 p.m. with JV and Varsity following. The team has silent auction baskets, 50/50 drawing and giveaway items. This is the Volleyball Teams last home and regular season game against Pleasant Plains!
FALL CHORAL CONCERT
The Fall Choral Concert will be held TONIGHT, Thursday, October 24 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Free admission! The Concert begins at 6:00 p.m. and will last approximately 1 hour. Featuring all Jr. High and High School Choral ensembles: JH Chorus & Jazz Choir, RHS Concert Choir, and Madrigals; the Fall Concert will showcase the vocal talents of our many outstanding and dedicated choral students. So come out and support the Rochester Choral Music Department!
PINK OUT APPAREL PICK UP INFO
The Rockets Crush Cancer/Pink Out Apparel will be available to pick up TONIGHT, Thursday, October 24 at the Blue Ridge Club from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
PINK OUT SPIRIT DAY
On Friday, October 25 there will be a Pink Out Battle of the Classes competition. Everyone should dress up in Pink Out and the grade with the most pink will win cookies from the Cafeteria. Students dressed up in pink will be counted during Rocket Time!
INFORMATION FOR RHS VARSITY FOOTBALL VS. SHG - 10.25.24
Admission: Adults $8, Students/Seniors/Veterans $6. Rochester K-12 students free.
The main parking lot will open at 4:00 p.m. We will be opening the back lot (behind the baseball field) as well, and that will open at 4:30 p.m. Fans can enter through either gate. Both the west gate (behind the bleachers) and the main gate will both open at 5:30 pm. There will be no tailgating in the back parking lot.
Intermediate/Elementary students will not be admitted to the game without a parent or adult.
JR High students must be prepared to show an ID to enter the game without a parent.
Footballs are not allowed inside the stadium. All balls will be confiscated.
There will be no re-entry for any students in grades K through 12.
Open containers/Yeti mugs are not allowed inside the stadium
All tickets can be purchased at the gate on Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m. or at the following link: Go Fan Link
Tailgating is allowed, but only on the far east end of the parking lot (near the tree line).
CHANNEL 1450 FILL THE TRAILER FOOD DRIVE
The Football team is collecting food for the 5th Annual Channel 1450 Fill the Trailer Food Drive. You can bring a donation item and get a free pink rally towel at the remaining home football games (while supplies last).

The Rocket Football Crush Cancer/Pink Out Game will be TOMORROW, Friday, October 25 vs. SHG at Rocket Booster Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
FCA MEETING
There will be a FCA Meeting this Sunday, October 27 at 5:30 p.m. in the RAC.
CANDY GRAMS
Release will be selling Candy Grams, Thursday, October 24 - Tuesday, October 29 to raise money for the support group. For $1.00 you can send a Halloween greeting to a friend or staff member! You can even buy some for your family! Candy Grams will be sold in the cafeteria each morning before school, during Rocket Time, and during lunches. You can also reach out to Liv Sheehan to purchase. Payment is due at the time of order. Candy Grams will be delivered to students on Halloween (Thursday, October 31) during Rocket Time.
TAYLORVILLE HIGH SCHOOL COLLEGE NIGHT
Taylorville High School is hosting a College Night TONIGHT, Thursday, October 24 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. They have invited Rochester High School students to attend this free event. It will be held in Taylorville High School's West Gym. They will have representatives from over 20 colleges, military, and trade schools as well as a FAFSA presentation.
HS GIRLS BASKETBALL PARENT MEETING

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent/Teacher Conferences for Rochester High School families will be held on Monday, November 4 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Conferences will be held VIRTUALLY this fall. Parents should use their Skyward Family Access to schedule 15-minute virtual appointments with their student’s teachers that they would like to visit with through our video conferencing platform. After scheduling your conference(s), parents will be sent a link by the teacher for each meeting via their email. Directions on how to schedule a conference can be found here. BOYS BASKETBALL PARENT MEETING
There will be a Mandatory Boys Basketball Parent Meeting on Wednesday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the RAC.
VETERAN’S DAY ASSEMBLY
Rochester High School and Junior High School will be hosting a Veteran's Day Assembly on Monday, November 11 in the RAC. Students are welcome and encouraged to invite any family members who are Veterans. Veterans can start arriving at 1:45 p.m. to check in at the RAC and enjoy refreshments. The assembly will begin at 2:30 p.m. and will be held in the RAC. If students plan on having Veterans attend, they should complete the form that was emailed to students by Mrs. Tucker. RHS PTO INFORMATION
The HS PTO needs your help! The PTO is seeking donations to help provide food for our teachers during Parent Teacher Conferences this fall and provide additional supplies that the HS teachers need in their classrooms. LLCC OPPORTUNITIES
There are several opportunities to visit campus:
Students interested in transfer programs to obtain a Bachelor's Degree can attend a presentation and tour from 3-4 p.m. The next presentation is October 23.
Students interested in Healthcare or Workforce programs (welding, auto tech, etc) can attend a presentation and tour starting at 5:30 p.m. The next presentation is October 24.
Students interested in Ag programs can attend a presentation and tour starting at 3:00 p.m. The next presentation is October 30.
The Open House for spring will be March 3, 2025.

AUDIO-ESSAY CONTEST
The Rochester VFW is once again supporting the VFW Voice of Democracy audio-essay contest. This year's theme is "Is America Today our Forefathers' Vision?" Scholarship prizes will be awarded at the local, state, and finally a $35,000 national grand prize winner. Information and entry forms can be picked up in Mr. Fitzgerald's Room (1135). Entries must be submitted to Mr. Fitzgerald by October 31.

ATHLETIC SPORTS PASSES
The 2024-25 Athletic Sports Passes will be available again this year! You can get yours at any home game. Cash or check made payable to “RHS”. The passes are good for RHS and RJHS home events. (Tournaments and Post Season games are not included) The cost is $200 for a Family Pass (for immediate family only) or $100 for an Individual Pass.

COLLEGE ESSAY ASSISTANCE
Seniors: it is that time already! College essays! If you would like help writing or editing your essay, Dr. Johnson would love to help you. College essay workshops will be every Monday and Wednesday during Rocket Time in the back of the Junior High Library (Dr. Johnson's new office space). Please send Dr. Johnson an email at tjohnson@rochester3a.net, and she will issue you a pass. There is no need to do this alone; use your resources!

If your student plans to participate in sports this school year '24-'25. Registration is open. At that time, please visit Athletic Registration to register your athlete. Please go under the 'more' tab and choose athletic registration. We will also need an updated physical on file. Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.
