MOCK ELECTION INFORMATION
The RHS AP Government and Politics classes have created and are running a Mock Election for ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF to vote in, this Tuesday, October 29. Please plan to take a few minutes during your Rocket Time or Lunch to cast your vote and participate in the Mock Election. Voting will be available during both lunches. If you do not have lunch, students will be able to vote during Rocket Time TODAY, Monday, October 28 and TOMORROW, Tuesday, October 29 in the Cafeteria. The intention of the Mock Election is to educate citizens on the importance of voting and how to vote in the future.
CROSS COUNTRY TEAM RESULTS
This weekend the Cross Country Team competed in the Jacksonville Regional. The girls team finished 2nd overall. Senior Brooke Zeibert was the individual champion in 17:15. Ashley Zeibert (3rd), Natalie Nichols (11th), Talia Daniels (12th), Myra Gibson (16th), Cali Gardner (24th), and Amara Kaeding (26th) pushed the team to a strong finish and onto the Olney Sectionals next weekend. The boys team finished 7th, one spot away from qualifying. They were led by sophomore Jonah Cunningham who finished 22nd and qualified individually for sectionals. Also qualifying were Jack Armbruster (31st) and Wyatt Gustafson (39th). Congratulations to all who ran!
HALLOWEEN DRESS UP INFO
Rochester High School Students and Staff may participate in dressing up for Halloween this Thursday, October 31 if they wear something ONLY from the following categories:
Favorite Jersey, Favorite Hat, Favorite Candy, Favorite Color or Favorite Career
Items listed above will follow the dress code guidelines of the Rochester High School Handbook 24-25.
INFORMATION FOR RHS VARSITY FOOTBALL VS. PEORIA NOTRE DAME - 11.1.24
Congratulations to our Rocket Football Team for making the playoffs. We will be hosting the 1st round vs Peoria Notre Dame this Friday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. ALL tickets are $6.00 and STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO PAY for playoff games. Tickets are available at the gate. Cash only.
CANDY GRAMS
Release will be selling Candy Grams, Thursday, October 24 - Tuesday, October 29 to raise money for the support group. For $1.00 you can send a Halloween greeting to a friend or staff member! You can even buy some for your family! Candy Grams will be sold in the cafeteria each morning before school, during Rocket Time, and during lunches. You can also reach out to Liv Sheehan to purchase. Payment is due at the time of order. Candy Grams will be delivered to students on Halloween (Thursday, October 31) during Rocket Time.
HS GIRLS BASKETBALL PARENT MEETING

BUILDING TRADES CAREER DAY FOR JUNIORS & SENIORS
Juniors and Seniors interested in going into a trade are encouraged to attend the Building Trades Career Day on Tuesday, November 19. Students will be gone from school from 8:45-10:30 a.m. Permission slips can be picked up from Mrs. Schudel in Student Services and must be returned to Student Services by Friday, November 8. The permission slip includes a full list of trades that will be present at the event.
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent/Teacher Conferences for Rochester High School families will be held on Monday, November 4 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Conferences will be held VIRTUALLY this fall. Parents should use their Skyward Family Access to schedule 15-minute virtual appointments with their student’s teachers that they would like to visit with through our video conferencing platform. After scheduling your conference(s), parents will be sent a link by the teacher for each meeting via their email. Directions on how to schedule a conference can be found here. BOYS BASKETBALL PARENT MEETING
There will be a Mandatory Boys Basketball Parent Meeting on Wednesday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the RAC.
VETERAN’S DAY ASSEMBLY
VFW Voice of Democracy Audio-Essay contest entries must be submitted to Mr. Fitzgerald by the end of the day this Thursday, October 31. This includes the entry form signed by a parent/guardian. Entry forms can still be picked up in Mr. Fitzgerald's Room (1135).
RHS PTO INFORMATION
The HS PTO needs your help! The PTO is seeking donations to help provide food for our teachers during Parent Teacher Conferences this fall and provide additional supplies that the HS teachers need in their classrooms. LLCC OPPORTUNITIES
There are several opportunities to visit campus:
Students interested in Ag programs can attend a presentation and tour starting at 3:00 p.m. The next presentation is October 30.
The Open House for spring will be March 3, 2025.

AUDIO-ESSAY CONTEST
The Rochester VFW is once again supporting the VFW Voice of Democracy audio-essay contest. This year's theme is "Is America Today our Forefathers' Vision?" Scholarship prizes will be awarded at the local, state, and finally a $35,000 national grand prize winner. Information and entry forms can be picked up in Mr. Fitzgerald's Room (1135). Entries must be submitted to Mr. Fitzgerald by October 31.

ATHLETIC SPORTS PASSES
The 2024-25 Athletic Sports Passes will be available again this year! You can get yours at any home game. Cash or check made payable to “RHS”. The passes are good for RHS and RJHS home events. (Tournaments and Post Season games are not included) The cost is $200 for a Family Pass (for immediate family only) or $100 for an Individual Pass.

COLLEGE ESSAY ASSISTANCE
Seniors: it is that time already! College essays! If you would like help writing or editing your essay, Dr. Johnson would love to help you. College essay workshops will be every Monday and Wednesday during Rocket Time in the back of the Junior High Library (Dr. Johnson's new office space). Please send Dr. Johnson an email at tjohnson@rochester3a.net, and she will issue you a pass. There is no need to do this alone; use your resources!

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT
If your student plans to participate in sports this school year '24-'25. Registration is open. At that time, please visit Athletic Registration to register your athlete. Please go under the 'more' tab and choose athletic registration. We will also need an updated physical on file. Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.
