DOUBLE BUS ROUTES, 2-18-25

Bus Routes A and H are double routes tonight, please wait in the HS cafeteria after school until your shuttle bus arrives to pick you up and take you home. Please direct any questions regarding late buses to the Bus Garage at (217)498-9834.

WRESTLING RESULTS

Congratulations to RHS Wrestler Pierce Bultmann! Pierce was the IHSA Sectional Champion and qualified for the IHSA Wrestling State Finals!  Congratulations to RHS Wrestler Conner Carroll and Carlly Ho who both qualified for the IHSA Wrestling State Finals!

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD TEAM RESULTS

The RHS Science Olympiad Team had 4 first place wins at the Macomb Regionals earning a bid to advance to the State Tournament at the University of Illinois.  1st place wins were: Anatomy and Physiology, Code Busters, Experimental Design and Forensics. The team placed 4th overall. Team members are: Team Captain Gabby Winkler, Claire Carley, Tucker Loy, Lacy Steck, Mason Haag, Mackenzie Haag, Timothy Lee, Dylan Ho, Hannah Rollins, Wes Myers, Ben Stalets, Elise Preston, Soren Transue and Connor Broughton.  Team Coaches are Mrs. Godar and Mrs. Goad.

GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM

Congratulations to the Girls Basketball Team who beat Chatham last night in the first round of Regionals.  They will play Taylorville in the Regional Championship this Friday, February 21 at 6:00 p.m. at Taylorville.

BOYS TENNIS MEETING

There will be a Boys Tennis Parent Meeting TONIGHT, Tuesday, February 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the RHS Library.  If you have any questions, please contact Coach Salazar rsalazar@rochester3a.net or the Athletic Office.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

RHS Parent-Teacher Conferences will now be held this Wednesday, February 19 from 3:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.  You can still sign up for conferences.  If you already have conferences scheduled, you will keep the same time for next week.  If you need to reschedule or make any changes to your appointment(s), please contact Sue Tucker, RHS Secretary at 217-498-9761, Ext. 53235 or stucker@rochester3a.net.  

BASS FISHING MEETING

A meeting for students interested in participating in the Spring 2025 Bass Fishing season will be held TOMORROW, Wednesday, February 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the HS Library. Parents and Guardians are encouraged to attend along with the student. 

GIRLS SOCCER TEAM PARENT MEETING

There will be a Parent Meeting for the Girls Soccer Team TOMORROW, Wednesday, February 19 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the HS Library.

SOFTBALL TEAM PARENT MEETING

There will be a Parent Meeting for the RHS Softball Team next Tuesday, February 25 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the HS Library. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Howard at lhoward@rochester3a.net.

BASEBALL TEAM PARENT MEETING

Our RHS Hockey Senior Night will be next Wednesday, February 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson Center.

DRAMA DEPARTMENT PLAY/MUSICAL TICKETS

COLLEGE NOW INFORMATIONAL NIGHT

LLCC Concurrent Enrollment would like to invite our high school sophomores and juniors to their College Now Informational Night!  This event would be for any student and their parent/guardian to attend to ask questions about their program who would potentially take College Now courses during the 2025-2026 academic year.  This year they are going to host two events, both presentations will be the same.  The first will be Monday, February 24 at 6:00 p.m. in the Kreher Agriculture Building. The second we will host a session in conjunction with our LLCC Spring Campus Visit Day on Monday, March 3 from 3:30-7:00 p.m. (session will be at 4:30 p.m.) beginning in the A. Lincoln Commons. RHS BLOOD DRIVE INFORMATION

Rochester High School is partnering with ImpactLife to host a blood drive on March 13 and 14. Students and staff may donate at the blood drive. Students MUST be 16 years of age or older to donate. Students who are 16 will need parent/guardian permission forms completed before donating. Forms can be turned into Mrs. Hawkins. Consent Form ImpactLife 

Our goal is to have 150 people donate to help save lives! Our school will be eligible to earn a life savings grant (Lifesaving Grant Information), and students can individually earn the Impact Award (Impact Award Information). More information is below.

This drive is not open to the community, community members who would like to donate can visit ImpactLife to donate at the donor center in Springfield! Any community member who donates between March 6-21 and credits Rochester High School, we will receive credit toward our Lifesaving Grant. Plus, your student can earn credit towards our Impact Award if you are a first time donor or a lapsed donor!  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Hawkins at mhawkins@rochester3a.net or our ImpactLife Coordinator Krista Jiroutek at kjiroutek@impactlife.org. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

The Springfield Lake Shore Improvement Association has scheduled their Annual Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 26, 2025 for the Lake Springfield area.  This is a great way to earn community service hours!  They are hoping for a huge turnout this year with your help.  Please see attached flyer for more information.  INFORMATIONAL FLYER

UIS HIGH SCHOOL STOCK MARKET COMPETITION

UIS is currently having a stock market competition. It is only available for area high school students to play. It has cash prizes for the top 5 winners. The LINK provides all the directions to get into the game as well as the contact information for the UIS professors. The game closes on March 28, 2025.

CENTRAL ILLINOIS STEM FAIR TICKETS AVAILABLE

Ticket registration is open for the 2025 Central Illinois STEM Fair, to be held on Wednesday, April 9 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the RAC. The 2024-2025 RHS Rocket Yearbook is on sale now. GUIDED TEST PREP PROGRAM

RHS now has a subscription to the Learning Express Guided Test Prep program. This resource offers: Test prep for ACT, SAT, ASVAB, and AP exams, a Resume builder, and a Scholarship database. Students can access it by clicking on the Library Canvas page and following the links for EBSCO.

The HS PTO needs your help!  The PTO is seeking donations to provide additional supplies that the HS teachers need in their classrooms.
