PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES - 9/29/21, 10/13/21 & 11/3/21

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held for RHS on Wednesday, September 29, Wednesday, October 13 and Wednesday, November 3 from 3:30 - 8:30 p.m. Conferences will be held VIRTUALLY this fall. Parents should use their Skyward Family Access to schedule 15-minute virtual appointments with their student’s teachers that they would like to visit with through our video conferencing platform.   After scheduling your conference(s), parents will be sent a link by the teacher for each meeting via their email. High School Students will be dismissed on Friday, September 24 at 12:15 p.m.


BIG BUDDY PROGRAM

We are planning on having seniors do Big Buddy with the Rochester Intermediate School this school year.  If you are interested please fill out this short survey so we can begin to get it all organized.  The survey will be open until 3:00 pm on Monday, September 20. 

 

PARKING INFORMATION

If you are driving a different vehicle to school for any reason you need to fill out this form on a daily basis so we know that it is in the parking lot.  If you have to drive a different vehicle for 3 days then please fill out the form on all 3 days.


CACC STUDENT INFORMATION

Due to Parent/Teacher Conferences at CACC, there is no school for CACC students on Friday, September 24 (not this week but the following Friday). Due to the early dismissal for an SIP day at Rochester, all CACC students will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m. and are done for the day. If you do not have transportation home on September 24, and need it, please contact Mr. Toland so that we can arrange a ride home for you that morning.

HOMECOMING 2021 INFORMATION

When: Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 8:00-10:00 p.m.

Where: RHS Tennis Courts - No Masks Outdoors

Rain Location: RAC - Masks Required Indoors 

Cost: $10.00 per Person - You will pay at the gate. 

Guest forms for the Homecoming Dance will be available from Mrs. Lessman in Student Services. Guest forms will be due Wednesday, September 22 by 3:05 p.m. to Mrs. Lessman in Student Services. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Lessman.

 

RHS HOMECOMING PARADE INFORMATION

This year’s Rochester High School Homecoming Parade will be on Wednesday, September 22 at 5:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “Fairytales”. If you are interested in participating in the parade or need additional information, please contact Deena Powell at (217)498-9761, Ext. 3122 during the school day or you can email me at dpowell@rochester3a.net. Parade entries should fill out a form at this link Parade Entries.  All parade entries need to have adult supervision and will not include political entries. PSAT-NMSQT TEST - JUNIORS

Attention Juniors - We will be offering the PSAT-NMSQT test on Wednesday, October 13.  This is a voluntary test and costs $18 to take.  It is recommended for college bound students.  We have a limited number of tests available - first come, first serve.  Sign up with Mrs. Schudel in Student Services by Thursday, September 30.

CONSTITUTION WEEK

Today, we observe and honor the 234th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution by delegates at the Constitutional Convention on September 17th, 1787. This important day in our nation’s history is the birthday of our government.  Students and staff are invited to pause and consider this extraordinary document while reflecting on its historical and contemporary significance. Here are the goals of the Constitution – then and now – as laid out in the preamble:  “We the People, of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”  Signed September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia. REMINDERS FROM THE NURSE

HAZEL HEALTH INFORMATION

We’re launching our health services program for this school year, and we want to make sure your family has access to these services all year long. Our district is hosting a Consent for Care Drive to ensure 100% of families learn about our student health services from Hazel Health. With Hazel, students can immediately speak with a Hazel doctor right from school or at home. On-demand health services include:

- Medical treatment: For stomach aches, headaches, sprained ankles, asthma concerns, and everything in between.

- Medication: Prescriptions written or over-the-counter provided at school when needed.

- Coordination: With family physician and return to school communications.

ATHLETICS & ACTIVITIES

GOLF TEAM RESULTS

Last night the Lady Rocket Golfers traveled to Petersburg for a 5 team match.  The girls played some of their best golf of the year, seeing all 5 ladies shoot in the 40's! Leading the way with 44 were Kassie Skinner, Isabel Tom and Kiley Torres! Shooting season (and possibly career low rounds) were Kassidy Conlon who had 47 and Kate Haupt who broke 50 for the FIRST time with a 49! The girls travel to Decatur at Hickory Point on Saturday.

 

FAMILY/INDIVIDUAL FALL SEASON SPORTS PASSES

Family and Individual fall season sports passes will be available at all games for purchase.  Family passes are $100 and individual passes are $40-adult or $30-senior citizen.  These passes allow entrance into all junior high and high school events during the fall season. Please bring a check (made out to RHS) or exact change. If you are planning to purchase passes at the football game they will be available at the pass gate only (far gate).

 

HS BOYS BASKETBALL OPEN GYM INFORMATION

For anyone interested in playing high school basketball this year that isn’t playing a fall sport, open gyms will be on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the RAC.  Masks must be worn during the open gym.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT

If your student plans to participate in one of our upcoming sports seasons, please visit https://rochesterhs.rschoolteams.com/ to register your athlete.  We will also need an updated physical on file.  Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Angie Butler at abutler@rochester3a.net.
