If you need a loaner chromebook, please visit the Tech Office before 8:30am.
It is important to remember your chromebook daily and to bring it charged and ready for class. Please carry your chargers in your case so if your battery gets low at the end of the day you can charge it. We are seeing more students for loaners everyday and only have a limited number of chromebooks.
A reminder that ALL RIS Library Books are to be returned to the RIS LIbrary this week! Any Library books that are not returned or lost must be paid for as a replacement .
Sixth Grade Teachers:
Please dismiss the Swing Choir members at 11:50 for lunch today. Members will eat lunch and at 12:15 students will report to the Music Room to run review songs and Choreography for the Fine Arts Festival. Our Final run-through will be in the gymnasium from 3:15-4:00 and
Fine Arts Festival performance is at 4:30 in the gymnasium as well!
Mr. Sampson’s P.E. classes meet in the gym today. Mr. Blaise’s P.E. classes meet in room 613 and bring your chromebooks.
Bus Announcements
Bus #2 and bus #4 are double routes today.
**Students who ride the bus need to make sure to have all of their belongings before leaving the building and getting on the bus. You will not be allowed to re-enter the building.**

May 11th - Fine Arts Festival - 4:30 pm

The Fine Arts Festival is this Thursday! Make sure you wear your t-shirt or any bold and bright 80s clothing to school on Thursday to help us celebrate. The event is completely free for all families. The festival begins with our swing choir performance in the gymnasium at 4:30 and will be followed by art activities in the cafeteria, art classes up in the 6th grade wing, followed by 5th and 6th grade concert bands and concludes with our jazz band at 7:15. There will be Coleman's Concessions, Kona Ice, JB's Coffehouse, and Casa Real Food Trucks available for purchase in case you decide to hang out all night with us. We can't wait to celebrate with you and your family this Thursday evening!

Jr. High Softball

2023 JH Baseball Information
● Tryouts will be Monday, July 31st and Tuesday August 1st from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Rochester Park. Tryouts are for 7th and 8th graders at this moment.
● Players will be notified (via email) Wednesday August 2nd (by 10:00am at the latest) if they made the team or not.
● Practices will begin Wednesday, August 2nd. They will be held from 5:00pm - 7:00pm prior to the beginning of school. Once games are set, I will provide a schedule of practice times (if no game, practice is typically from 3:30pm - 5:00pm at Rochester Park.
● Players must have a current physical to participate in tryouts/practice. If you are not sure, please contact Kim Hauck in the athletic office at khauck@rochester3a.net. If we do not have a copy of your physical at the time of tryouts you will not be able to try out for the team.
● If a potential player is not able to attend tryouts he will not be considered for our team.
● Please take the time to consider any travel plans you may make for the end of the summer, beginning of fall. We have a short season (July 31st - October 4th) and it is important that every player attends all practices and games.
● Parents will need to register players on the Rschool website prior to tryouts.
● Please make sure to dress properly for tryouts! Wear pants and wear a hat. Make sure to have your own water and equipment (there is usually no water down at the park unless the concession stand is open)
● Once we have the roster set there will be a $75 athletic fee for each player. Also, hats will cost $25 (players get to keep the hats at the end of season).
Please email me with any questions you may have prior to the beginning of the season. We will hold a formal parent/player meeting after the first day of practice (August 2nd).

Basketball Open Gym
Community open gyms will begin Wednesday April 5th and will go through October of next school year. The open gyms will be held at the RAC every Wednesday from 6-7 pm for 3rd thru 8th graders and 7-8:30 for 9th grade and up.
Lost and Found
Please remind your child(ren) to check out our lost and found table in the back of the cafeteria if they are missing any items. We have a large amount of items that are piling up on the lost and found table.

Transportation Changes
All transportation changes must be submitted to the office no later than 2:00pm. Please call the office at 217-498-6215 or email your changes to Mrs. Howie at chowie@rochester3a.net or Mrs. Lovett at clovett@rochester3a.net. Any request for transportation changes past 2:00 pm cannot be accepted. Thank you for your cooperation!
Parent Pick-up:
As a reminder, for parent pick-up at the end of the day, all parents should remain in their vehicles and follow the pick-up line around and to the front of the building. Please do not park in the parking spaces in order to pick up your child. Thank you for your help with this!
Lunch Balances
The low lunch balance alerts have been reactivated for all families. You will get an alert when your lunch balance is below $5.00. If you choose to shut off the alert, you will no longer get any school announcements.
