Attendance Reminder

Dr./Dentist/Ortho.  Notes

Make sure that you are calling your student in on days they are sick or have a doctor appointment.  This way the office does not have to call you later to check in or they can have your child ready for early pick up.

Make sure that Doctor’s notes are being brought to the office after the appointment or if your student has been sick.  That note will change that absence in Skyward from a parent excuse - AE to a doctor excuse - AD. Remember that students get 10 parent excused absences (AE) in a school year.  After 10 they will be considered unexcused (UU).  You can have your student bring in the note to the office or you can email the note to chowie@rochester3a.net or clovett@rochester3a.net.

Mental Health Days: you are allowed 5 mental health days in a school year, but those are also part of your 10 excused absences (AE) that were mentioned above.  If 10 absences have been taken, all absences going forward will be marked as unexcused unless there is a doctor’s note for that day.

RIS Student Council is hosting a Penny Drive January 20th-24th! Winning Homeroom will win an Ice Cream Party!  Homerooms will collect ONLY pennies during the week of January 20th-24th. The pennies will be used in a district wide STEM day in February. Thanks in advance.

Parent Pick-up:

For parent pick-up at the end of the day, we prefer the line system.  All parents should remain in their vehicles and follow the pick-up line around and to the front of the building.  You may also choose to park in the spots in the parking lot. It is our preference that you use the line system, however if you choose to park, please come to the front of the building and escort your student to the vehicle safely. Under no circumstances should students be walking across the parking lot unescorted.  Thank you for your help with this!

 Lunch Balances

The low lunch balance alerts have been reactivated for all families.  You will get an alert when your lunch balance is below $5.00.  If you choose to shut off the alert, you will no longer get any school announcements.
