SPELLING BEE
Classroom spelling bees will be taking place over the next two weeks! The top 2 spellers from each homeroom will be identified by 2/7. A grade level spelling bee is planned for 2/14. Winners of our grade level bees will attend the county bee in Pawnee on February 19th.
6TH GRADE JAZZ BAND
The 6th Grade Jazz Band will be performing at the Lasagna Night Dinner at the High School Campus Cafeteria on February 10th! Follow this link for more information!

JR High Girls and Boys Track
The JH Boys and Girls Track teams will have their informational parent meeting on Tuesday, February 25 at 5 pm. Please reach out to Coach Johnson (Girls) cjohnson@rochester3a.net or Coach Nelson (Boys) dnelson@rochester3a.net for any questions or concerns.
Girls preseason workouts will run from 3:20-4:20 on the following dates:

Rochester Schools District Wide Steam Supply Drive
All Rochester Students will participate in a STEAM event in February. Please donate packages of Q-Tips and rolls of masking tape to make this experience possible.
Sign up your child for RYAA teeball, baseball and softball! Registration runs through March 1 and is open to kids age 5 - 14. Volunteer coaches are also needed to keep this program running. Visit ryaasports.org for more details and to sign up!

ATHLETICS & ACTIVITIES
SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT
If your student plans to participate in sports this school year '24-'25. Registration is open. At that time, please visit Athletic Registration to register your athlete. Please go under the 'more' tab and choose athletic registration. We will also need an updated physical on file. Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.

Transportation Changes
All transportation changes must be submitted to the office no later than 2:00pm. Please call the office at 217-498-6215 or email your changes to Mrs. Howie at chowie@rochester3a.net or Mrs. Lovett at clovett@rochester3a.net. Any request for transportation changes past 2:00 pm cannot be accepted. Thank you for your cooperation!
Parent Pick-up:
For parent pick-up at the end of the day, we prefer the line system. All parents should remain in their vehicles and follow the pick-up line around and to the front of the building. You may also choose to park in the spots in the parking lot. It is our preference that you use the line system, however if you choose to park, please come to the front of the building and escort your student to the vehicle safely. Under no circumstances should students be walking across the parking lot unescorted. Thank you for your help with this!
Lunch Balances
The low lunch balance alerts have been reactivated for all families. You will get an alert when your lunch balance is below $5.00. If you choose to shut off the alert, you will no longer get any school announcements.
