Library

Congratulations to the 4th Grade Classes for an impressive win in our Library “Link to Learn”  Hot Air Balloon Race!   Links added weekly helped push the 4th grade hot air balloon to the finish line!  A “Traveling Hot Air Balloon” will be placed in the 4th grade hallway to celebrate their win!  All 4th,  5th,  and 6th grade students as well as teachers are encouraged to continue to add links to their link chain as we begin a new race.

Hispanic Heritage Month

As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to an end, we wanted to recognize some students for their Hispanic Heritage Notable Person submissions.  There were many impressive entries, including those done by Lauren Beck (4th) Norah Horstman (4th), and Madilynn Pinnell (6th).  However, the winners of the 10 tickets prize are: Hadley Alvey in 4th grade, Charleigh Little in 5th grade, and Elliot Hicks in 6th grade.  Congratulations!  These students won for their use of multiple resources while researching, neat and organized overall presentation, and demonstration of hard work through detailed writing.  All students whose names were called may come to the office to collect your entry and prize.  If you submitted an entry and you did not hear your name, please write your name, the person you researched and your homeroom teacher on a piece of paper and put it in the envelope outside of room 607.  Be on the lookout for another contest in November, for Native American Heritage Month. Information will be posted soon on the bulletin board in the cafeteria.

Hazel Health

We want to make sure every student has the option to access our student health services from day one.  Be sure to take part in our Consent for Care Drive by signing the form at my.hazel.co/rochester3a.  If you have already completed the form, thank you!

Why sign up?

When students are not feeling well, they often miss more school when they can’t see a doctor.  We are making doctor visits available to all students through Hazel, so they can receive medical care and return to learning faster.  Wondering whether your child has allergies or a potential flu?  Your child says they have a headache that just won’t go away, and you’re not sure whether it’s serious?  Will you need to leave work to drop off medicine at school?

Hazel can help by providing HIPAA-compliant video doctor visits through your school nurse’s office or from home.  Hazel is a trusted resource for extended student health services, including:

  • Medical treatment: For stomach aches, headaches, sprained ankles, asthma concerns, and everything in between

  • Medication: Prescriptions written or over-the-counter provided at school when needed

  • Coordination: With family physician and school

Sign the form at this link now to be prepared for student health this school year: my.hazel.co/rochester3a

Parents who are unable to sign the form today can still sign up at any time during the school year.  We encourage you to do this early, so you are prepared for student health this year.
